People tend to feel depressed and anxious at some stage in their lives. Sometimes this passes but at other times these periods can feel never-ending and intense and can result in feeling helpless and alone. This can be related to a particular life event or seem to come from nowhere.
Despite wanting to make meaningful changes it can feel confusing taking the first steps to seek help, particularly if you have not had therapy before. This is often an anxious time and people talk about feeling ashamed or weak not to be coping better. It can take considerable courage to acknowledge feeling vulnerable and to contact a therapist.
Whether you are seeking therapy for the first time or are further along in this journey I start by offering a telephone conversation. This gives us a sense of whether we might be able to work together in which case we book an initial consultation to consider your needs going forward.
